Dear sir/madam,
As a bachelor student of Urban Studies of Leiden University-The Hague, together with researchers from the Health, Medical and Neuropsychology unit of Leiden University, I am conducting a study on nightlife subcultures. This letter provides more information about the study. Please read the letter carefully before you decide whether or not you want to participate in the study.
Aim of the study
With this study, we would like to obtain more insight into levels of exposure and intake of party drugs within different nightlife subcultures, with a specific interest in Gabber subculture, and their relation with urban setting and life satisfaction. Results of this study can help us improve harm reduction policies. We therefore ask you to fill out an online questionnaire. There are no wrong or right answers; we are only interested in some general characteristics like age, gender, and living situation and your actions and feelings with relation to party drugs.
What will be asked of you?
Participating in this study will consist of filling out a questionnaire. This will take approximately 15 (±5) minutes. You can fill out the questionnaire on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Target group
For this study, we are looking for young adults between 18 and 30 years old who are active within the Gabber or any other nightlife subculture.
Possible advantages and disadvantages of participation
Participating in the study will not have a direct advantage for you. Your participation will contribute to more information on the differences and patterns of urban nightlife. With data obtained anonymously, the only possible disadvantage of participating is the time investment that is asked of you.

The personal data that will be collected are age, gender, education level, occupation, your household composition, and postal code numbers (no letters); these data will not be identifiable to you as an individual. All data will be processed in a coded way and will be stored safely at Leiden University for 10 years.
