Welcome!

This is the beta version of the learning objective generator. It is a work in progress, but feel free to use this tool for developing rough drafts of learning objectives to use in your own teaching.

The generator is part of an exploratory study to further our understanding of how teachers construct learning objectives. Please note that no personal information is collected. Your data and input may be used to make improvements to the generator, to improve the ICLON UTQ modules, and for research purposes.

The generator is designed in such a way that the user can create a learning objective by answering a series of five questions. For the first three questions you are asked to select different options from a drop-down menu. The last two questions require your own personal input. Because creating a learning objective is often an iterative process you can go back to previously answered questions within the generator and make changes. After answering all questions, you should end up with a grammatically sound learning objective that includes a description of:

(1) the time frame
(2) the target audience
(3) a measurable verb (describing the desired student behavior)
(4) the relevant subject matter to which the learning objective is related
(5) (optional) any conditions that have to be met

To give an example:

(1) After the UTQ module (2) the teacher can (3) create (4) clear and specific learning objectives (5) using the learning objective generator.

The five questions and the measurable verbs corresponding to the resepective levels of Bloom's taxonomy used in this generator were based off of several resources. For your reference:
