HPC Cluster Intake (1/3)

Estimated time: 5 minutes.

You are filling in this survey because you would like to analyze data on one of the High Compute Cluster: ALICE or SHARK.

Please only use this form if you are part of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSW). Otherwise contact the cluster helpdesks directly.

In general, FSW projects should be run on ALICE, however, there are are currently some limitations on the type of data that may be stored and analyzed there (i.e. non-sensitive data). In those cases SHARK may be the appropriate cluster instead.

FSW privacy and data managers will assess which cluster is suitable for your project, based on the information provided by you below.

Please note, if you are not the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project, the PI will be asked for confirmation before any account is made.

For general information on ALICE or SHARK see here.

For additional FSW specific information regarding the use of ALICE or SHARK, see here.

For any questions, please contact informationmanager@FSW.leidenuniv.nl

Do you wish to request account for other (none-PI) project members?
(Note, project members can also fill in the form themselves)
Do you require (access to) a shared project folder on the cluster?
Which mode for write permission is needed for the shared folder?

The default setup is that team members cannot delete and (over-)write each other’s data. It is possible to write into directories created by another team members, but only after manually changing the write permissions on the directory.
The alternative currently is that team members can delete and (over-)write each others' data.
